Lizzie’s Home was founded to honor the remarkable legacies of two extraordinary women — Lizzie Lee Thomas of Mississippi and Homer Lee Smith of Louisiana. Both matriarchs embodied the true spirit of Southern hospitality. With open hearts and humble means, they welcomed anyone in need into their homes, providing comfort, food, and love even when resources were scarce.
Their unwavering belief in community, compassion, and dignity inspired the creation of Lizzie’s Home. Today, we carry their legacy forward by addressing one of the most pressing challenges facing our communities: housing insecurity.

Our roots run deep. The owners of Lizzie’s Home have been in business since 1999 as Imagine Builders, bringing decades of expertise in home construction, renovations, and community development.
